Remedial Massage In Blackheath with Ali Rhodes and Yve Carroll
What Is Remedial Massage?
Remedial massage is a form of manual therapy that assesses and treats muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissue with the aim of addressing pain, tension, or restricted movement. It involves a range of techniques tailored to the individual’s needs, and may include deep tissue work, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and gentle stretching or muscle energy techniques.
Treatment is focused on identifying areas of dysfunction or imbalance and working to restore normal muscle tone and movement. It’s commonly used by people experiencing muscular aches, stiffness, stress-related tension, or recovering from physical strain.
Muscle tightness and generalised tension
Postural strain from work or daily habits
Recovery from physical activity
Improving joint mobility and circulation
Managing the physical effects of stress
Every session is personalised. Depending on your needs, a remedial massage can feel firm and focused or calming and restorative.
Health fund rebates are available if your cover includes remedial massage.

Every session is tailored to each client's individual needs, combining therapeutic techniques with a deeply relaxing style of massage inspired by her experience working at yoga retreats.
She incorporates myofascial cupping into her remedial massage treatments where appropriate, combining it with hands-on techniques to help release fascial restrictions, ease tension, and support recovery. She has a special interest in treating TMJ dysfunction, neck and shoulder tension, and headaches, using a tailored approach to relieve pain, improve movement, and address the underlying causes of tension.
Ali also specialises in scar tissue therapy for C-section, post-surgical, and injury scars, helping to improve tissue mobility, reduce discomfort, and restore function.
As a certified yoga teacher, Ali brings a holistic understanding of movement, posture, and nervous system wellbeing to every treatment.

Yve Carroll
Yve is the founder of Nourished Recovery Co in Blackheath, and a remedial massage therapist offering a slower, more grounded approach to wellbeing. Her work supports both the physical body and nervous system through intentional, restorative care.
Her approach combines evidence-based remedial massage techniques with a holistic understanding of how stress, lifestyle, movement, and emotional tension can affect the body over time. Sessions are personalised to each individual's needs and goals.
Whether you're experiencing muscular tension, pain, stress, headaches, fatigue, injury, limited mobility, or simply looking to slow down and reconnect with yourself for a moment, treatments are designed to support both immediate relief and long-term wellbeing.
Yve believes healing happens best when people feel safe, supported, and able to fully relax. Her focus is on creating a space where clients feel comfortable, listened to, and genuinely cared for throughout their treatment. Alongside relieving physical discomfort, she aims to help clients reconnect with their bodies, regulate stress, and create more space for rest and recovery in everyday life. (And yes, sometimes that includes a little homework.)
Before completing her Diploma of Remedial Massage, Yve studied traditional Chinese medicine, counselling, and yoga, and spent several years working as a hiking guide. These experiences continue to shape the way she approaches health and wellbeing, both personally and professionally. She values combining different modalities and perspectives to support a more balanced, holistic, and sustainable approach to caring for the body.
